Orkney’s Viking Heritage

Orkney was under Norse rule till 1468 – the last addition to what is now Great Britain! See St Magnus Cathedral, the Bishop’s Palace, Scapa Flow, the remains of a Viking drinking hall, a round Church and the Orkneyinga Saga Centre as well as a walk round round Kirkwall streets. On a clear day we drive up Wideford Hill, just outside Kirkwall, for its views to mainland Scotland and many of Orkney’s islands.
